1) 4 hours tour: Start at S. Pietro in Vincoli and from there go to S. Clemente (church on top and archaeological excavations from the early Christian and Roman times). Passing the ruins of the ancient buildings where the gladiators lived you reach the Coliseum, the Palatine and the Forum. The visit ends on the Capitol. This tour can be done in three hours, if you skip the initial part with the two churches.

2) Start the visit at the Circus Maximus and visit the Aventino, St. Maria in Cosmedin-Foro Boario and Foro Olitorio, S. Nicola in Carcere with its excavations, Teatro Marcello and finish your visit on the Capitol.
